Near the town of Sredets - Bulgaria, in the Bojura area will be held the twelfth Folklore Festival for singing and playing `Folkoren Venets - Bojura`. It is organized especially to continue the tradition of Strandja–Thracian region, to stimulate the interest and love towards Bulgarian rich folklore heritage.
In the frames of this twelfth Festival will be held the third Science Conference with theme `Chitalishtata i Balgarskia folkor` Cultural Centers and Bulgarian folklore/. Its aim is to preserve Bulgarian cultural space as regional and local agglomerations.
The festival is lasting three days at the town and area `Bojura`, next to the town of Sredets. There will be three competitions:
1. A competition for young performers of Strandja and Thracian songs in three groups according to the age of the participants – under 10 years, from 10 to 14, and from 14 to 18 years old performers.
2. A competition for young instrumentalists /kaval, gaida, tamboura, gadoulka/ grouped in the same three age groups as above.
3. A competition for presenting authentic folklore costumes.
At the competitions for young artists all of the participants take part with two songs /melodies/ with duration up to 6 minutes.
An awarding fond of 3000 lvs. has been provided by the sponsors, and they are: The Sredets Municipality, the Union of Thracian Societies in Bulgaria, The Regional Court of Thracian Societies in Bourgas, Cultural Center `Probuda in the town of Sredets and the Sredets Municipality Historical Museum.
Chairman of the organizational body is engineer Todor Proikov - Mayer of Sredets Municipality.
